Abstract:

The aim of this project is twofold.
First, it wishes to investigate the migration patterns in and out the Brussels Capital Region during the last decades.
Secondly, the project aims at explaining the reasons behind migration behavior and migration intentions. A quantitative analysis will provide insights into the migration flows and the socio-economic profile of movers and stayers. A qualitative analysis using the Delphi method will probe into the motivations to leave or stay in the Brussels Capital Region and will in addition analyze policy measures that impact upon these decisions.
