Healthy ageing for all (LIFEPATH)

2015-2019 | International funding

Summary:

Interface Demography is a partner in WP2 (Socio-economic differentials in healthy ageing in Europe) of the LIFEPATH project, a European Union’s Horizon 2020 Research and Innovation Programme (Grant Agreement No. 633666). The aim of the project is to investigate the biological pathways underlying social differences in healthy ageing. To fulfil such a purpose, LIFEPATH members will address four specific objectives: i) to show that healthy ageing is an achievable goal for society, as it is already experienced by individuals of high socio-economic status (SES); ii) to improve the understanding of the mechanisms through which healthy ageing pathways diverge by SES, by investigating life-course biological pathways using omic technologies; iii) to examine the consequences of the current economic recession on health and the biology of ageing (and the consequent increase in social inequalities); iv) to provide updated, relevant and innovative evidence for healthy ageing policies.
