Research objectives
This project aims to investigate the mechanisms by which social differences in mortality and health are generated. Insights in the mechanisms by which differentials are generated will be acquired in this project by focusing on different dimensions of socio-economic position, their additive and interactive effects, and by undertaking a detailed analysis of mortality by cause. Two dimensions particularly will be considered in detail: the health impact of (un)employment and employment conditions and the health impact of family and living arrangements in Belgium.
